About Your Therapist

My interest in Massage Therapy began when I was in high school and a massage therapist came to my aerobics class and taught some basic massage techniques for the head, neck and shoulders. I loved what I learned and carried it through the years, using the techniques on friends. I was often told from the friends I would help that I had a gift for massage.

Though I enjoyed massage, I did not obtain my license in that field initially. When I attended college, I tried pursuing the field of nursing, but through some interesting events changed to the field of Child Development. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Child and Family Sciences, and worked in that field for several years. During that time, my passion for helping people continued to burn and grow, but I felt I wasn’t working in my potential. I continually found myself being approached by children, teens, college students and even some adults for advice, help, and even some forms of counseling. My heart always went out to those who didn’t or couldn’t see how wonderful they were and were struggling with life. Again, I was often told I had a gift and that people felt safe around me.

It was during the years of teaching I came in contact with a group that was forming a local wellness community (now called Grace Wellness Community). During this time, I found support to work through tragic events that took place in my own personal past. I also became more devoted to taking care of my spiritual health and physical health in how I ate, exercised, etc. because I knew it was all connected for healing. As the inner healing became more evident in my life, the more that passion burned in my heart to walk with others through their journey. I became heavily involved with the Grace Wellness Community and currently serve on the Board of Directors. We have seen amazing healings take place emotionally, spiritually, and physically in this Community. My heart for people and holistic health for them almost became overwhelming for me in the summer/fall of 2013. With the nudging of a couple of dear friends, I quit my 9-5 job and embarked on a journey completely by faith. I believed the Lord was for this path I was taking and had many mentors support me in this decision. I began school to become a licensed Massage Therapist. The gift I was told about so often began to shine while I was in school and in the few months upon graduating. I finally have an outlet in my profession to allow time to walk beside people who need support during hard times or in maintaining their overall holistic health, and I am truly honored and thankful for each person who entrusts me with their health and lives.

I started my own massage business (Life Source Therapies) in the spring of 2014. While there are many modalities and therapies I offer in my massage business, my overall heart is to belong to a team that offers holistic therapies in forms of massage, nutrition counseling, emotional/spiritual counseling, and more. Please read “About Life Source Therapies” to gain a better understanding of the vision I have for this business and your well-being. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about my journey.
